Living the Orthodox Faith In ChristThrough Worship, Witness, Service and FellowshipStatement of Purpose and Intent:The Goal of St. Vladimir Church is the integration of our faithful, fullyinto the total life of the Church of Christ, as is expressed in the norms ofthe Russian Orthodox Church. We pray that Orthodox Christians committhemselves to living the Orthodox Faith daily. Worship, Witness, Serviceand Fellowship are the natural expressions of that commitment. Wedefine them as follows:WORSHIP- The Russian Orthodox Church, cultivates a daily personalprayer life and readings of Holy Scripture and the Law of God. Thefaithful parishioners attend regular God-services, being the sacramentalexpression of and participation in the Life of Christ. In this work thefaithful are ever being saved by repentance and partaking of the Bodyand Blood of Christ.WITNESS- Christ calls us to be His witness in the world. The Churchenables our faithful to express their faith for themselves and to others inorder to be true witnesses of Christ and the Holy Orthodox Faith.SERVICE- Christ came not to be served, but to serve. The Churchstrives to assist our faithful to do the same. We honor and glorify God byloving and serving all men in the name of Jesus Christ, using our Godgivengifts and talents.FELLOWSHIP- The Holy Trinity is the perfect model of fellowship;the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit share perfect communion and exist inperfect love. By gathering together in fellowship, and by showing lovefor one another in Christ, we emulate the life of the Holy Trinity in ourdaily life.Our main obligation is to assist our parishioners to attend the Godservices,grow to love Christ, His Church, His commandments and topursue a righteous way of life, - and thereby, attain eternal life in theHeavenly Kingdom of the One God, - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
