SCCTE is an NCTE affiliate, dedicated to supporting and enhancing English language arts since 1947. The purpose of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Engish is to improve the aualit.y of English/ Languaae Arts instruction at all educational levels; to facilitate professional cooperation of its members; to foster professional development discussions and and to intesrate the efforts of those concerned with the improvement of Enqish/ Language Arts instruction throughout the state of South Carolina.
