The Washington Institute of Foreign Affairs Established in 1961 The Washington Institute of Foreign Affairs WIFA was founded in 1961 as a forum designed to promote greater knowledge and understanding of international affairs and problems. WIFA holds semimonthly meetings at Washingtons Cosmos Club where qualified authoritative speakers all experts in their field deliver speaking presentations on international foreign policy issues. Meetings comprise of either luncheons or afternoon programs. Program structures allow for question and answer sessions where members are given the opportunity to participate in further wideranging discussion with invited speakers thereby gaining a better understanding of foreign policies and international issues.
