When your child has a severe medical condition or illness, priorities shift to doing whatever it takes to care for them. The cost of ongoing hospitalization or treatments can stretch a family thin. The Silverton Foundation’s mission: provide mortgage or rent payments on behalf of families struggling with the crisis of a seriously ill child. People lose their homes for a number of reasons; the most common being loss of job and health. For the families The Silverton Foundation serves, it’s even more compounded because the health is that of their child, and in many cases, we see at least one parent lose their job to care for their child. The Silverton Foundation connects with these families through Georgia-based hospitals and area nonprofits who focus on serving children and their families. The Silverton Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that receives funding through charitable donations and the support of our Partner Programs.
