The Trust for Vexillology Supporting the Scholarly Study of Flags The Trust for Vexillology is a nonprofit corporation organized to support the promotion of the scientific study of vexillology which is the creation and development of a body of knowledge about flags of all types their forms and functions and of scientific theories and principles based on that knowledge through research conservation and education. The Trust may undertake any project to further this purpose and is organized in part to support and enhance the Whitney Smith Flag Research Center Collection at The University of Texas at Austins Dolph Briscoe Center for American History as a center for vexillological education research and public service. Led by a threemember Board of Overseers the Trust is also organized for conducting and supporting scholarly studies of flags and flagrelated topics conducting conferences seminars briefings and surveys preparing publications and providing research and information to the general public public officials governments industry labor unions academia public policy organizations and the media.
