Detroit’s competitive sled hockey team welcomes all ages and skills, from beginners to Paralympians. Supported by Metro Detroit Sled Hockey 501(c)(3). At Metro Detroit Sled Hockey our mission is to provide the opportunity for any disabled athlete to reach their full potential on and off the ice. We value skill development, teamwork, good sportsmanship and inclusivity. Our goals include growing the sport of sled hockey, advocating for appropriate level of play for all players and removing the financial barriers to playing the sport. Our fundraising efforts primarily support Belle Tire Sled Hockey teams. Belle Tire Sled Hockey teams are all ages and skill level from “I just learned to skate” to “paralympians” Donations are used for expenses such as ice rental for practice, tournament fees, equipment, hockey sticks, sled maintenance and new team sleds to be used by new players.
