About Us About Our Rescue Nutmeg Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue rehabilitation and release of sick injured and orphaned wildlife. We see the majority of these animals in the spring and summer months but we rehabilitate through the year. Orphaned opossums whose mothers have been killed by dogs or humans baby bats who have fallen from their roost and cannot be reunited with their mother woodchucks caught in live traps and transported miles away leaving their babies to starve and turtles hit by cars are just a few of the situations that bring animals in to our care. Nutmeg Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation will take in triage and stabilize almost all species that can be legally cared for in Connecticut as resources allow.
