The mission of Friends of the National Elk Refuge is to create a transformative experience where people connect with nature, learn the natural history of the elk and other wildlife that populate the refuge, and become stewards for conservation and the National Wildlife Refuge System. We will provide financial support and guidance required to construct and perpetually maintain a public resource that celebrates the natural beauty, biodiversity, and history of the National Elk Refuge. The Nature Discovery Center will be an enduring gift to the American people. By supporting the new Nature Discovery Center, we will educate the public, create a sense of wonder, foster environmental responsibility, and inspire Americans to understand the need for wildlife conservation throughout this century.
