Atlantic Black Box researching reckoning with New England039s role in colonization enslavement The Prince Project Database is Now Live Mainers in the Sugar Trade The Story of America Needs to Recognize Everyone If New Englands merchant vessels had been equipped with black boxes to record the nature of their trade we would be in a far better position today to determine the roots of systemic racial injustice in this region. Atlantic Black Box is devoted to expanding the field of historical recovery. We empower communities throughout the place long referred to as New England to research reveal and begin reckoning with the regions role in colonization the slave trade and the global economy of enslavement while recentering the stories of its historically marginalized groups. As a collaborative research platform and a learning community ABB serves as a hub and a clearinghouse for all those who wish to support this work and move it forward.
