Overview

The Museum of Military Models Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving military history through an extensive collection of scale models. Located in Texas, the museum showcases more than 600 scale models and artifacts from the American Revolution to the Vietnam War era, as well as models of European battleships dating back to the 16th century.

Mission and History

Founded by Warren D. Harkins, a Texas native and Air Force veteran, the museum aims to honor men and women who served in and supported military operations. Harkins' vision is to educate and inspire future generations about military warfare and its historical significance through scaled-down models. The museum's collection includes models of ships, aircraft, tanks, and other military equipment, serving as a tribute to the sacrifices and heroism of service members.

Exhibits and Collection

The museum features a broad range of historically accurate military models representing past, present, and future weapons of the armed forces. Key models include replicas of famous battleships like the HMS King George V and the USS Pueblo (AGER-2). The museum operates on a private property, with daily operations managed by Harkins and his team. It is currently expanding to include more exhibit space for larger groups and events. Despite the lack of an admission fee, donations are encouraged to support local veterans through the West Texas branch of Texas Hunters for Heroes.
