Cardinal Soccer Club

The Cardinal Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth with opportunities to learn and play soccer in the Mentor, Ohio area. Founded in 2019, the club has grown significantly, boasting nearly 350 recreational players and over 200 travel players as of recent years.

Mission and Goals

The club focuses on developing children as soccer players and individuals by promoting positive coaching, good sportsmanship, teamwork, hard work, and perseverance. It aims to enhance each child's fitness and self-confidence while fostering a lifelong love for the game of soccer. The core values of the club include integrity, cooperation, respect for self and others, and fairness.

Structure and Governance

Cardinal Soccer Club is governed by a board of seven trustees and five officers who oversee its operations. The club relies heavily on volunteer support, particularly during outdoor Spring and Fall seasons, as well as the Winter indoor season. Volunteers fill various roles, including age group commissioners, field coordinators, and equipment managers.

Sponsors and Community Support

The club appreciates the support of local sponsors who help fund team jerseys and contribute to the growth of the program. Sponsorship opportunities are available for various age groups, allowing businesses to promote their names through team uniforms and community events.

Activities and Seasons

Cardinal Soccer Club offers a continuous soccer season from Fall through Spring, with optional Winter indoor sessions. Home games and practices are held at local fields, such as Mentor School fields and McMinn Park. The club organizes events and activities that engage the community, promoting the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
