Storytellers Writers is an innovative outofschooltime program that offers a creative alternative learning approach to the Language Arts. Using stories as a framework the program addresses academic learning gaps in English language and literacy skills nurtures pride and appreciation for students cultural roots and nurtures a sense of belonging and confidence through the writing and telling of new stories the students create themselves. Sixth grade students in Santa Fe NM are ready to perform their original stories in both English and Spanish to sold out audiences at Teatro Paraguas. A TWIST of Stories is woven together by their collective imaginations and performed with highly individual finesse flare and fun.
