Colorado Horse Rescue (CHR) is a US nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter, rehabilitation, and care for abused and neglected horses. Established by close friends Sharon Jackson and Jill Pratt, CHR has been a steadfast steward of the human-horse relationship since 1986[2].

CHR operates on a 50-acre property that functions at full capacity, providing care to approximately 60 horses at a time. The organization offers comprehensive programs including a robust placement process that focuses on quality over quantity, ensuring each horse finds a suitable match[3].

Expanding HorseAlert In response to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles CHR is extending our lifesaving HorseAlert system to California. This free communitypowered tool connects horse owners who need to evacuate their horses with volunteer drivers willing to help. Horse owners and volunteer drivers are encouraged to sign up now to help save lives horse and human during these critical times.
