Help Remove the Invasive Weed Hydrilla Mission Statement The Indian Lake Hydrilla Response Coalition39s mission is the protection enrichment sustainability and conservation of Indian Lake. Indian Lake is a 268 acre lake which serves as the headwaters of the Saugatucket River in Washington County Rhode Island Our AIS Objective Our Aquatic Invasive Species AIS objective is to treat aquatic weeds in Indian Lake such as Hydrilla verticilatta as needed to prevent adverse effects on water quality. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management DEM has broad responsibilities for environmental protection and nature resource management within the State. DEM is leading the effort to remediate AIS from Indian Lake.
