CENTRE FOR MUSIC AND MENTAL HEALTH Healing Minds Through Music CENTRE FOR MUSIC AND MENTAL HEALTH Healing Minds Through Music Our Mission The Centre for Music and Mental Health seeks to foster the impact of music on the mental health of marginalized populations. The organization engages in programming involving the active use of music including musical training musical literacy and participation in musical ensembles. The organization builds upon existing knowledge and research of the benefits of active engagement with music to improve cognitive functioning and quality of life for individuals with mental health challenges. Target populations served include but are not limited to individuals with varying forms of neurocognitive impairment dementia developmental disabilities and chronic mental illness.
