Fundación Jocotoco was created in 1998 with the objective of protecting areas of critical importance for the conservation of endemic and threatened bird species in Ecuador that are not under the protection of the National System of Protected Areas. Jocotoco achieves this goal by acquiring and managing land as biological reserves.

The Jocotoco Conservation Foundation Jocotoco US protects our planets most endangered ecosystems and wildlife throughout Ecuador and beyond. To do this we work closely with partners including Fundacion Jocotoco a conservation foundation in Ecuador created in 1998. OUR IMPACT Every year we discover new species we rediscover species thought to have already been lost to extinction and we bring species back from the brink. We protect and restore wildlife habitat from Amazon rainforests to high Andean paramos into the wet Choco and the dry Tumbes and across the ocean to the Galapagos.
