University of the Philippines AlumniAssociation in America The University of the Philippines the premier public university of the Philippines serves over 60000 students and 7000 faculty members dependent on government funding for its operations and making it susceptible to the changing priorities and decisions of politicians. With scholarships available for fewer than 500 students and many faculty receiving low salaries and inadequate research funds the UPAAA aims to unite alumni and other supporters of UP to collaborate on initiatives to lend support. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization of alumni of the University of thePhilippines and other supporters of our Alma Mater. We bring together former UP students from diverse disciplines who have settled outside the Philippines fostering connections among them and with the University.
