The South Amherst Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit, historical and educational organization whose mission is to promote a knowledge of the history of South Amherst, Ohio by collecting, preserving and interpreting that history and its relationship to the adjoining area. The South Amherst Historical Society promotes South Amherst community pride, spirit and identity with community interaction.

South AmherstHistorical Society Preserving the Wonderful History of South Amherst Ohio Home Village History Events Meetings Projects Donate More About Us The birth of the South Amherst Historical Society started on a cold January evening in 2016. The importance of preserving the history of the Village of South Amherst was the topic of the meeting. A core group of people continued to meet and organize. The meetings were opened to the public in the summer of 2016 where it became evident that the history of the village was important to many.
