Welcome to the Newburyport Society for the Relief of Aged Women The Newburyport Society for the Relief of Aged Women NSRAW pronounced NEZRA is a private notforprofit charitable foundation established in 1835 that has been meeting the needs of local women in financial difficulty for over 180 years. Serving Amesbury Merrimac Newburyport Newbury Salisbury and West Newbury women who are 60 years old and above. WHAT WE DO NSRAW provides financial assistance to older Newburyportarea women in two ways through direct help to individuals in need through grants to other local nonprofit organizations that share or overlap with our mission INDIVIDUALS NSRAWs 15woman board of directors meets regularly to review applications for assistance and disperse foundation funds to older women in our area who cannot afford to pay for critical services they require. For example these services include but are not limited to Dental medical or mental health care Housing or rental costs Heating or utility fees Food Car repairs AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS To extend available support to as many women as possible NSRAW partners with local agencies and organizations and funds grants to them as appropriate that will be directed to NSRAWs target population.
