Our Story Welcome to the Howard Heroes Fund where the spirit of camaraderie and support for our firefighting community knows no bounds. Our journey began in 2003 a year marked by profound personal tragedies within the Howard County Professional Fire Fighters Association. As our members faced heartbreaking losses from the unimaginable grief of losing children to the devastation of home fires a collective desire to lend a helping hand emerged. Faced with the dilemma of balancing compassion with fiscal responsibility we embarked on a mission to establish a separate fund dedicated to providing crucial financial assistance in times of dire need.
