Following this change, the Pirate Youth Football League joined the Central Coast Youth Football League (CCYFL).

The league has developed asthe stepping stone for young athletes to develop their skills prior to entering high school. For years the Pirate Youth Football League Cheer was one of seven leagues that made up the TriValley Youth Football Conference TVYFC. OnJuly 25 2016 the TriValley Youth Football Conference was dissolved and Pirate YFL is now part of the Central Coast Youth Football League CCYFL.
