Old Road Society of Philipstown Old Road Society of Philipstown Old Albany Post Road Old Albany Post Road Save Donx27t Pave Old Albany Post Road Nestled in the Hudson Highlands is the oldest road in New York State Old Albany Post Road. The sixmile unpaved road has been in continuous use since 1669. General George Washington marched his troops on the dirt road during the Revolutionary War. With mile markers placed by Benjamin Franklin in 1769 and doublesided stone walls it is a living monument to the countrys foundation and independence.
