VCB implements standards and testing for certification of addiction counselors prevention specialists clinical supervisors peer recovery specialists and community health workers. VCB establishes safeguards and monitors certification standards for professionals in the substance use community health and other behavioral health fields. It advocates for quality comprehensive services.
