Welcome to the Emans Trust homepage By her Will dated 5 June 1723 Elizabeth Eman set up a charitable trust for widows born and living in Aylesbury Borough to receive a pension. As a result of the expansion of the town and a decline in the numbers of Aylesbury born residents the terms of her Will were amended over a period of years with the result that pensions are now awarded to women and men whether they are widowed divorced or single and the area extends to the whole of Aylesbury Vale rather than just Aylesbury town. Priority is however still given to those actually born in Aylesbury. The funds to pay these pensions comes from interest on investments and from property owned in Aylesbury.
