ABOUT LADY BETTY Lady Elizabeth Hastings adopted a lifestyle of deep Christianity and enlightened philanthropy and before her death in 1739 established the charities which have since helped tens of thousands of people. TYPES OF GRANT The charities are able to make educational grants to individuals schools and communities as well as ecclesiastical grants to clergy and churches all within clearly defined geographical areas.
