Avon Valley Archaeological Society Events Fieldwork Home Avon Valley Archaeological Society AVAS is an active and friendly society running vigorously since its foundation in 1974. We promote interest in and study of archaeology for all encompassing surveys conservation excavation and compilation of reports. A meeting place for those with common interests. Our membership is drawn from a diverse range of people comprised mainly of keen amateurs with a handful of professionals.
