A b o u t t h e Ca r l R o s a T r u s t Were delighted to announce a wonderfully exciting project. Applications are now open for a fully funded PhD position at Northumbria University in collaboration with the Carl Rosa Trust. The studentship which is funded by the Northern Bridge Consortium under the Collaborative Doctoral Awards scheme will focus on the history of British touring opera using the Carl Rosa Opera Company 18731960 as a case study. The student will work with materials from the Carl Rosa collection at Liverpool Central Library which includes autograph and manuscript scores orchestral parts music editions production notes set designs librettos and business records from the 1820s to the 1960s.
