The Desert Rats Association - 7th Armoured Division Thetford Forest Memorial

Our aim is support families and veterans of the 7th Armoured Division, plus 4th and 7th Armoured Brigades (and their descendants) and to ensure our history is not a thing of the past and to educate future generations on the legacy of the British 7th Armoured Division, who fought in the North African Campaign and later Italy and North West Europe during the 1940s conflict and conflicts ever since.

This was theonly time the division was in the United Kingdom in its entire Existence. TheDivision sailed from Felixstowe on the 5 June 1944 with the first tanks landing on GoldBeach on the evening of 6th June 1944 May your glory ever shine May your laurels neverfade May the memory of this glorious pilgrimage of war you have made fromAlamein via the Baltic to Berlin never die.
