CYMDEITHAS RHEILFFORDD ERYRITHE WELSH HIGHLAND RAILWAY SOCIETY Keep the dream alive A dream once thought impossible The Society was established with the aim of supporting the resurrection of the Welsh Highland RailwayWelsh Rheilffordd Eryri and now supports the railways upkeep and development. The railway is regarded as one of Britains most spectacular rail journeys with marvellous engineering and breathtaking scenery hard to find anywhere else. The railway has a complicated history dating back to the 1820s but ended up closing in the 1930s and being dismantled. The Welsh Highland Railway has been brought back to life and is now the longest UK heritage railway taking passengers on an incredible journey from coasttocoast through some of Snowdonias most stunning scenery.
