Helping the children of South Sudan Roots Sudan who we are It began in 2008 when we first visited what was then southern Sudan. We found a country devasted by years of conflict little or no infrastructure people attempting to rebuild their country. We also found some of the most welcoming people in the world children full of smiles and laughter and teachers wanting to give those children an education yet eager to learn themselves. We were determined to help in whatever way we can and so Roots Sudan was born.
