The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund for Primate Welfare and Conservation UK Registered Charity Number 1126939 Jim Cronin MBE sadly passed away on March 17 2007. Jim founded Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre in 1987 and he and his wife Dr Alison Cronin MBE established themselves as international experts in the rescue and rehabilitation of abused primates and the enforcement of international treaties aimed at protecting primates from illegal trade exploitation and abuse. In his loving memory the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund has been established to continue Jims legacy and support primate welfare and conservation around the world. The charitys objectives are as follows To advance the education of the public in the conservation of nonhuman primates and in all other matters concerning them in particular but not exclusively through the construction and maintenance of an education centre.
