A safe secure and supported environment 500000 is awarded annually Southwark Charities manages almshouses on behalf of Southwark Christchurch St Marys Charities offering older people the opportunity to lead independent lives in a safe secure and supported environment. Southwark Charities makes grants to a diverse range of local community groups and Charities who are working with Southwarks older people. The charity also pays modest annual grants to 200 individual members and this group together with the almshouse residents are invited to participate in a range of events and activities throughout the year including theatre shows seaside outings daytrips visits to historic places and Christmas lunch.
