Thamani Youth of Africa

Mission

Activities

Initially, Thamani focused on supporting youth-led grassroots organizations in Kenya, particularly in Likoni, by providing strategic guidance and assistance in securing funding for their projects. In 2016, the organization expanded its operations to Nigeria. In April 2017, it launched an education center in Imo Gate village, Abia State, in collaboration with the local community. This center delivers programs such as a "Learn & Play" initiative for children, IT skills workshops for young people, and business training for women and widows.

In Kenya, Thamani partners with organizations like Hatua Likoni to provide educational opportunities. They offer scholarships for secondary and university education, mentoring, and career guidance to prepare Kenyan youths for success in the workforce.

Focus on Nigeria

Thamani's work in Nigeria is motivated by the country's significant development challenges, particularly in education. Nigeria faces issues such as lack of access to quality education, large class sizes, and inadequate resources in schools. Many children in rural areas are out of school, exacerbating these challenges. Through its educational programs, Thamani aims to address these issues by securing funding and resources for low-income communities in rural Nigerian villages.

Fundraising and Partnerships

To achieve its goals, Thamani relies on generous donations and partnerships. These funds support the design and execution of effective programs, as well as providing materials and financing for building renovations and operational costs. The organization continues to expand its work through collaborations with local communities and stakeholders.
