Maple Lodge Conservation Society was founded in 1983 with the objective of ensuring that Maple Lodge Nature Reserve continues to provide a safe habitat for wildlife and a pleasant and interesting place for people to visit.The Society has continued to develop and improve the Reserve with a careful management plan and in partnership with the owners, Thames Water.

Home Maple Lodge Nature Reserve Maple Lodge Nature Reserve consists of 40 acres of lakes marsh hedgerows and woodland. It is owned by Thames Water who lease it to the volunteer members of the Maple Lodge Conservation Society. The reserve is one of Hertfordshires hidden secrets and is home to a rich variety of wildlife including waterfowl woodland birds bats and butterflies. There are two lakes and many hides to explore around the reserve some of which have wheelchair access.
