To establish and maintain a museum for the benefit of the public dedicated to preserving promoting and displaying in perpetuity the collection of heritage buses photographs documents artefacts and memorabilia of Delaine Buses of Bourne Lincolnshire one of Englands oldest independent bus operators for the purposes of education reference research and general interest. The origins of Delaine Buses can be traced back to 1890 when the family introduced horsedrawn vehicles to take people to local markets. The first motor bus was introduced in 1919 and daily services from Bourne to Peterborough Stamford Spalding and Grantham were all established by 1923.
