About Us Our History Chinese Community Wellbeing Society CCWS was originally set up as the Bristol Chinese Womens Group BCWG in 1989 and with the additional funding from Avon County Council it was then changed to Bristol and Avon Chinese Womens Group BACWG in 1992 to support Chinese women who had nowhere else to turn to over time this expanded to include other members of the family and individuals living alone. In 2017 the organisation made steps towards changing its name to better reflect the community and area that it served having outgrown its name many years before.
