In 2024, the band rebranded itself from Soundhouse Brass to Plymouth City Brass to better reflect its strong affiliation with the city of Plymouth and its commitment to the local community. This change acknowledges the band’s pride in its role as an active and integral participant in Plymouth’s cultural and musical landscape. The rebranding was marked by a free public concert held in September 2024 in Plymouth Methodist Central Hall, celebrating both the new identity and the band’s vibrant musical presence.

Activities and Mission

Plymouth City Brass focuses on musical education and community engagement. It offers open-access training brass sessions for people of all ages and abilities, providing free tuition and instrument rentals in a friendly and supportive environment.
