We support the initiative to make the Tees Valley a recognised ‘Area of Sanctuary’ that welcomes those fleeing violence & persecution in their own country. TVoS works to ensure that people seeking sanctuary are welcomed into our region. We act in the interest of refugees and asylum seekers to ensure entitlement to the same rights as others and needs being met with respect to housing, health, education and legal protection. It is our duty to break down barriers to accessing services and to enable people seeking sanctuary to be understood.
