North Shields Fishermens Heritage Project About Us The North Shields Fishermens Heritage Project was established in 2015 by Terry McDermott and Henry Howardthe aim was to raise funds to commission a statue to remember the men who fished from North Shields and those who lost their lives. Known as The Fisherman he now sits proudly looking out to sea from the site known as Fiddlers Green on the banks of the Tyne at North Shields. The Fisherman The Fisherman was unveiled on 24th of September 2017 on the site now known as Fiddlers Green. A mythical place where fishermen go when they dont go to hell.
