Overview
Langley Community Services Society is a Canadian nonprofit organization established in 1971. Initially known as Langley Family Life Services, the organization has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals, families, and communities by providing comprehensive services.
Mission and Vision
The mission of Langley Community Services Society is to empower and inspire individuals and families to improve their lives and contribute to building inclusive, healthy communities. This is achieved through a collaborative approach, fostering unity and support.
Services
LCSS offers a diverse range of programs and services, including:
- Family Services: Child care resource and referrals, family place programs, and information and referrals.
- Family Counselling: Community counselling, family success program, family connections, parent outreach, and parent education.
- Settlement and Integration Services: Early learning programs, community engagement, Langley Local Immigration Partnership.
- Substance Use Services: Intensive Case Management Team (ICMT), support resources, and access to appointments.
- Other Programs: Skills to Success, Fast Track Education, and Assistant Training.
Funding
The organization is funded through a combination of government support from both the Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia, as well as donations from foundations, local businesses, and individuals.
Impact
Langley Community Services Society assists nearly 5,000 individuals annually, contributing significantly to the well-being of the community. Their commitment to providing accessible resources and education supports the goal of creating a more supportive and inclusive environment for all.
History
In November 1971, LCSS began serving the community under its original name. Over the years, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community, expanding its services to cover a broad spectrum of family and individual needs.

Child Family Services Strengthens families and promotes wellbeing through child development playbased learning early literacy parent education and support community connections and encouragement of healthy lifestyles in families individuals and youth from birth to 14 years of age. FamilyCounselling Counselling for families from the Langleys who are parenting children aged 14 years and under. Building on the strengths of the family support is offered through counselling education and referrals. Settlement Integration Services Emotional social and educational support provided to immigrant and refugee families in the Langleys.
