Tabor Home Society

Tabor Home Society is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care and housing services for seniors. Established over 60 years ago, the society operates Tabor Village, a multi-campus community offering a spectrum of care options including independent living, assisted living, and complex care for older adults.

History and Mission

Founded more than six decades ago, Tabor Home Society has been committed to delivering exceptional care with a foundation of Christian compassion and respect. The society is sponsored by a network of eleven churches throughout the Fraser Valley, with many of its board members and residents affiliated with these congregations. This strong community connection underpins its mission to offer "care from the heart" to seniors and their families.

Services and Facilities

Tabor Village comprises four campuses that collectively provide a full continuum of senior care. The services include affordable independent living residences, assisted living facilities, and complex care designed for those unable to remain in their own homes or who require full-time medical support. The society operates a 104-unit assisted living facility, with 82 units funded by the Ministry of Health and 22 units financed privately. Residents receive comprehensive care services including meals, housekeeping, and medical assistance, fostering a supportive and vibrant community environment.

Capital Campaign and Future Plans

Recognizing the aging infrastructure of its original complex care home, Tabor Home Society initiated a capital campaign in 2019 with the goal of raising $11 million to replace the facility. Although the campaign has been paused pending discussions with Fraser Health, the society remains focused on expanding its campus and enhancing its services to meet the growing needs of senior adults. Plans include the development of new independent living options and a modernized Center for Living designed to facilitate meaningful interactions between residents, staff, and visitors.

Tabor Home Society is an affiliate of Fraser Health Authority, reinforcing its status as a trusted care provider in the region. It is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable organization (Business Registration Number: 108062696RR0001) and maintains a strong reputation for community engagement and quality care.
