**Friends of Fort Steele Society** is a Canadian nonprofit organization (Business Registration Number: 129805263RR0001) that managed Fort Steele Heritage Town, a National Historic Site of Canada in British Columbia, from 2004 until March 2025. The society was responsible for preserving and interpreting the heritage site, which commemorates the 19th-century gold rush era and early settler history in Ktunaxa territory.

During its tenure, the society oversaw significant capital projects, including the restoration of the heritage steam train and the development of a new visitor center, supported by provincial funding. It facilitated cultural programming such as live theater performances at the Wildhorse Theatre, blacksmithing demonstrations, and gold panning activities to engage visitors with the site's historical context. Interpreters in period costumes and preserved buildings, including the 1890s-era Windsor Hotel, schoolhouse, and churches, contributed to immersive educational experiences.

The society collaborated with heritage authorities to broaden narratives at Fort Steele, emphasizing inclusivity and indigenous perspectives. Management of the site transitioned to the Cranbrook Archives, Museum and Landmark Society (CAMAL) in April 2025 following a provincial request-for-proposals process.
