Summer Music Society

Incorporated in 2017, the Summer Music Society has been active in Saugeen Shores, primarily in Southampton and Port Elgin, for over 30 years, albeit under different organizational structures before its current form. The society's primary focus is on hosting the Summer Music camp, which provides quality music education to individuals of various ages, from children as young as four to adults. The programs are led by a diverse faculty of musicians from across Canada.

Beyond the music camp, the society organizes special events within local schools and the broader community. It aims to cultivate both the educational and artistic development of participants and to foster opportunities for local talent to perform in accessible venues.

Recognition and Partnerships

In 2024, the Summer Music Society was named as the UPLIFT recipient by Curious Public, a leading public affairs firm based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This recognition includes receiving pro bono communications and marketing services to help the society increase its visibility and outreach during challenging economic times.
