Giving Refugees Hope in Uganda (GRHU) is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of refugees and poor local communities in Uganda. Established in 2013, GRHU focuses on enhancing the quality of life for these populations through various initiatives.

Mission and Vision

The mission of GRHU is to create awareness about the plight of refugees and poor locals in Uganda, particularly those affected by war violence. The organization aims to provide opportunities for these communities to build a better future by implementing income-generating projects, skills training programs, and supplying basic necessities. GRHU's vision is to see refugees and poor locals living with hope for a brighter future.

Activities and Operations

The organization is managed by a Canadian Board of Directors and advisers, with positions held on a volunteer basis. GRHU has established several key initiatives, including:

These programs are designed to provide comprehensive support to refugees and vulnerable communities.

Donations and Funding

One of GRHU's notable policies is that 100% of donations received are allocated directly to their projects, ensuring that contributions make a tangible impact on the ground.

Registration and Compliance

GRHU is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, ensuring compliance with Canadian charitable requirements. This status enables donors to receive tax receipts for their contributions.
