FOUNDEDIN FAMILIESHELPED CHARITYEVENTS Occurrence of SIDS has been declining for 4 generations due to SIDS research and awareness. In 1999 the US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development NICHD launched the Back to Sleep Campaign that led to a 45 decrease of SIDS. This is just one example of how research can save young lives. SIDS RESEARCH There are 4 main theories researchers believe to be potential causes of SIDS.
