Orthodox V Charitable Association
The Orthodox V Charitable Association (Business Registration Number: 139479042RR0001) is a Canadian nonprofit organization comprising 13 parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate. Established in 1985, it primarily serves Orthodox Christian communities in Alberta, with a focus on coordinating religious services, charitable activities, and cultural preservation.

History
The association originated from discussions between parishioners Serge Lopushinsky and Bill Holyk, who sought to unite five parishes served by Father Stephan Abramchuk. On 31 October 1985, representatives from these parishes formally adopted the name "Orthodox V" during a meeting at Holy Trinity Church in Wostok, Alberta. Serge Lopushinsky was elected as the inaugural president, with Vicky Holyk as secretary and Kim Lopushinsky later appointed treasurer.

Activities
Orthodox V organizes liturgical services, including weekly worship and outreach at senior care facilities. Its initiatives include annual Christmas caroling at hospitals and fundraising events such as the Pre-Lenten Social (or puschenia), first held on 15 November 1985. The association supports clergy accommodations and maintains historic church properties, including the 1897 Holy Trinity Russo Orthodox Church in Stary Wostok, Alberta.

Structure
Operating as a charitable association, Orthodox V coordinates activities across its member parishes while remaining under the spiritual authority of the Moscow Patriarchate. It collaborates with other regional groups, such as the Orthodox IX Parishes, a separate association of nine parishes in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
