Australian Flora Foundation – Fostering research into the biology and cultivation of Australian plants.
The Flora Foundation raises money by public donations, bequests and investment income from previous bequests, to support scientific research into the Australian native flora. We have an annual call for grant applications from researchers. In 2022, seven grant applications totaling $275,000 were successful. Total expenditure on grants for the current year was $62,000.

Australian Flora Foundation The Australian Flora Foundation was established in 1981 with the aim of fostering scientific research on the biology and cultivation of Australian plants. It was thought that by encouraging research a greater awareness of the value of the Australian flora would be developed resulting in explicit measures for their conservation and utilisation. Funds for research are raised through the membership of the Foundation donations from various sources and the income from bequests. In the spirit of reconciliation the Australian Flora Foundation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land sea and community.
