LBLCA continues to undertake workshops, field days, participation in training with volunteers and school children. 1. Draw the attention of the Lower Burdekin Community to the need to use sound land utilization and conservation practices. 2. Promote adoption of land use and land management practices, that insure the future livelihood of local people and create a balanced ecosystem. 3. Foster cooperation between land uses, including government agencies, where ever action is needed to control land degradation. 4. To act as a watchdog on emerging degradation and land management issues in the Lower Burdekin. 5. Help disseminate and receive information to and from the public and assist in extension to adopt new practices. 6. To actively encourage Landcare activities in schools.
