Lighting their way to personal discovery, Moriah College aims to kindle within all our students the strength and knowledge to spark their curiosity, and ignite their passions in order for them to shine through their achievements. Kehillat Moriah Incorporated s (Kehilla) purpose in the prior financial year was to serve as an umbrella community for anyone that has a direct or indirect relationship with Moriah College or Kehillat Moriah. The Kehilla endeavoured to expand its membership and operations within an inclusive, modern orthodox and religious Zionist framework. In order to achieve this, The Kehilla conducted religious and cultural activities, for young people and adults alike, in the Synagogue or Hamakom, retreat centres and all venues in the Queens Park and other campuses. This involved the instruction and education of the Jewish religion to Kehilla members and students through the employment of Rabbis, clergy and appropriate religious instructors, counsellors and teachers. These teachings focused on explaining religious relevance, through authentic experiences and exposure to the Oral and Written Law, Hebrew Language, Rabbinic literature and other appropriate texts. The Kehilla functioned on the Jewish calendar, incorporating Jewish festivals and offering initiatives to help inspire the broader community. It additionally recognised life milestones; such as births, barmitzvahs and batmitzvahs (confirmations), weddings and bereavements which were conducted by the Kehilla in accordance with Jewish law.
