The Company s principal activities during the financial year were: to provide support to Professor Pookong Kee, the third BHP Chair of Australian Studies at Peking University and the Chair s initiatives, including leading and producing the first and second Australian Studies in China Online Resource interview series; to provide funding to Peking University for activities related to the BHP Chair for the year 20212022; to administer and provide funding to the 2021 Australian Studies in China Program (2021 ASP) funded by the National Foundation for AustraliaChina Relations (NFACR) with the guidance from the independent Academic Advisory Committee (AAC); to finalize and announce the results and disburse funding of the 2021 Australian Studies in China Program (2021 ASP); to launch and commence the selection process of the 2022 Australian Studies in China Program (2022 ASP); to provide agreed funding installments to eligible 2018,2019 & 2020 Scholarship Program awardees. to continue developing relationships with stakeholders in China, including Chinese and Australian universities, the ConsulateGeneral of the People s Republic of China in Sydney, the Chinese Association of Australian Studies (CAAS), the Australian Embassy in Beijing, the NFACR and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) offices. to approve and to provide funding to requests that fit in the Company s Objectives, including the 2021 Biennial Australian Studies in China book prize, the 2021 BHP Chair of Australian Studies Translation Prize, the Australian Literature Translation Project of the Australia China Institute of Arts and Culture and other activities; and to assist BHP AustraliaChina scholars and ASP grantees whose study plans have been disrupted by COVID19 restrictions
